The golf

Feels Like Funshine backs onto the ChampionsGate Country Club course, an 18-hole, par-72 layout designed by golf architect George Clifton. The club is semi-private, and its public tee times can be booked online, so guests staying in the villa can play the course right behind them. The greens fee includes a cart and range balls, and there’s a six-tee system that suits everyone from low handicaps to beginners (the back tees play about 7,070 yards). The practice range has peninsula target greens, and the Champions Grill clubhouse is there for lunch after a round. The view from the pool deck is fairway, not a neighbor’s fence.

Elsewhere in ChampionsGate, the Omni Orlando Resort has two more courses designed by Greg Norman, the National and the International, so a group of golfers has plenty of choice without leaving the community. Rates change with the season, so check each club for current pricing. The Country Club’s golf office is at (407) 507-2756.

The open floor plan keeps a big group together, an outdoor table seats 8, and free baby gear is available. A dog is welcome too ($120 per dog, usually a two-dog limit, 50 lb max, flexible).
